A record 1800 needy kids in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area received gifts this holiday season because of the RevMax/CMPD Explorers Christmas Project! Key sponsorship was provided by Integrateideas client, RevMax, a locally owned custom torque converter, transmission and high performance auto part manufacturer. RevMax returned for the second consecutive year to boost their contribution by donating 2 bikes for every transmission sold during the holidays, giving needy kids in Charlotte a reason to celebrate the season. Looking towards the future success of the program, RevMax and Integrateideas have co-sponsored the creation of a more organized and robust software program to help the CMPD Explorers to manage gift collections and child matching going forward.
David Levine, co-owner of Integrateideas, says, “As one of those rare born and bred Charlotteans, this program holds a very special place for me. Nobody could stop me on my bicycle. It took me on adventures all over Charlotte where I learned a lot about independence and responsibility. I am so proud to be partnering with the CMPD on this project to help it run even more smoothly and efficiently next year.”
The program began in 1974, when 15 families were given gifts by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. Since that humble beginning, the program has grown year over year, as local companies like RevMax and Integrateideas have invested in their community by giving back to the children who are our future. CMPD worked hand in hand with guidance counselors and teachers to select children to receive 3 gifts and a gift card for their family to buy food for their holiday dinner. Children were eligible for the program by qualifying for free or reduced lunch at school and were nominated by their teachers.
RevMax and Integrateideas both look forward to continuing their CMPD Explorers Christmas Project sponsorship next year!
